the straight leg pants are hard to find as they wore them to work after the army discharge, no one threw the jackets away.. EXCELLENT!
Except me. When I separated from the service I left Germany and it was Cold, Cold, Cold. The last leg of my flight home was from Dallas and it was Hot, Hot, Hot. I tossed my Class A jacket ribbons and all in the Trash Trash Trash. I was sick and tired of playing Army, Army, Army
Back on track, Looks like a nice uniform, I'd have to say the price was pretty good too.

inside the trouser the writings are the initial with a dash and the last four digits of the serial number, the trousers in the pic have been reissued numerous times to different soldiers.

Ade gave me this link, just follow the tabs to WWII and you should be able to do a search, but warning database is somewhat incomplete.

I noticed that the name in the trousers is "H. Osborne".
I made a search on the web following some tips from another collector from Brazil.
I found a soldier named "Homer L. Osborne" de Walton, Kentucky.
The WWII Memorial web site informs that he served on the 3rd army: http://www.wwiimemorial.com/registry/se ... &tcount=34
But, Archives.gov, tells that he enlisted on 03/03/43 in FT Thomas Newport, Kentucky, as a private. The tunic has a tag dated december 18, 1942 as showed on previous picture.
This site also informs that he attended 4 years of college and his civilian occupation was teacher/principal of secondary school.
http://aad.archives.gov/aad/record-deta ... 36,6827454
The site Social Security Death Index Interactive Search informs that:
HOMER L OSBORNE was born on 27 Apr 1921 and died on 19 Dec 1996 in Kentucky.
If he attended the college , could he reach the capitain rank so fast?
All those information together do not seems to fit.
I don't think thats the right recipient. What do you think?
Maybe the lot was grouped from different soldiers. I t could explain the discrepancy.
Is there something wrong on my search?
(i'm doing that for the first time)
Thanks.
