    Default 82nd Airborne patch

    Hello everyone,

Bought this 82nd Airborne patch at a trade show over the weekend and I think it may have a chance of being WWII era, but I am no expert. Could someone please provide a possible date for this patch? It looks the number B5444 on the back, kind of hard to read.

    Thanks,
    Michael

    You are right WW II.
Now all you need is the rocker.

Could be, it resembles the real good fake coming out in the last few year that are made in the correct way, but are a little plasticy on the reverse and stiffer than originals.

This is an official schiffli made 82nd Abn SSI, has the standard characteristics of a 40's-early 50's era patch embroidered on cotton twill , snow back with a slight outer border.

Steve its called a tab , tabs go over and a rocker is the reverse and goes underneath on an unofficial US Army patch.

Can you make out the lettering on the reverse B 5???

other than that its pure speculation.

Perhaps its a post war addition? My thinking would be why would anyone label a patch that will just get covered up as its sewn on?
