Hi Ade
Next time you drive it to Arnhem let me know if you need someone in the back to hold the map!! if you havent got the route off by heart by now LOL.
Reg
Hi Reg, I think my days of driving the Jeep to Arnhem are now over, unless I become richer. It always used to cost me at least £1000 round trip. The ferry alone is £250. Since the last time I drove there (2006) the price of petrol has gone up a lot. A Jeep will only do 20 miles per gallon....
Cheers, Ade.
Even still, 20mpg isn't bad for an elderly 4x4, I suppose it helps that the Willys MB/Ford GP type Jeep is a relatively light vehicle, compared to the quite oversized civilian 4x4s so common nowadays anyway. Your jeep is lovely by the way, has it needed much restoration?
Thanks.
I have completly rebuilt it over the years. Body off, engine and gearbox/transfer case, etc. But it is still pretty original. No fake body panels etc.
Cheers, Ade.
Thats a fantastic looking jeep rgds Dave
Ade , isuppose you could always paddle across in the sbs canoe, save a fortune on petrol costs, a bit hard on the arms though, still the cockleshell heroes had a go.
It is a fantastic looking jeep you have Ade, all you are missing now is a tank.
Best regards
Nuno
