Are these fakes? Never seen bullion wings like this before, but there is plenty I have never seen.

The seller describes them as, GENUINE ISSUE GB PARA NO.1 DRESS BLUES WINGS, 1ST PATTERN

    Thanks

Sorry for the poor pic, provided by the seller.

I'll post better pics when it arrives. It was very cheap, so no big loss if it is bogus.

Hi Jerry, not really sure about these. The backing looks green on my PC and not very dark blue like one would expect.

    Cheers, Ade.

Thanks for the response Ade. The backing is dark green on the front and the reverse is black. They were cheap and so it's not a big loss if they are wrong, I just can't find any others to compare them with, real or fake. The silver bullion is tarnished, especially the parachute and the basket, which suggests they were not recently made, but old fakes exist of every thing, so not much help there. The size seems pretty small, so I wondered if they were for a Beret/cap, rather than the blue uniform, but these are outside my area of knowledge.

The ones worn on the dress uniform are small. Dark green might be worn by Rifle Regts? But I am getting outside my comfort zone now as this is post war stuff.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Same here mate!!!

Thanks for responding, as I was beginning to wonder if anyone would.

PS did you notice the Scots guards tunic I posted with clear signs of a removed pair of Para wings?

I got a response on the British military badge forum.

'Royal Marines wings for Lovat uniform. Worn after 1964.'

Good to know they are real, even if postwar and a welcome addition to my collection.
