Not wanting to sound pedantic but it is not Dahomey, with a red star on the badge i'd take a guess at The People's Republic of Benin which was a Marxist-Leninist state!...

From 1958-1975 it was known as République du Dahomey, from 1975-1990 it was known as République populaire du Bénin. With the badge having a red star i'd have said the badge came from the latter which was a Marxist state!..
