    I had long been after one of these to add to my collection.

    1950's 3rd pattern smoch by George Davis & co. Possibly 1951, though I have also seen 1954 & 1956 by this maker.

    Nicely sun faded with WWII pattern wings with the feather flaw attached and signs of three metal rank insignia on eash shoulder strap. It has a few holes but is great imo.

    Very nice. As you say, still affordable.

    I have one coming up for auction at work on Friday. Comes with a couple of pics of the original owner. Sadly no wings on mine.

    thanks ade. elsewhere someone commented the wing was an early s of f repro? i did not know they did split feather copies.
