    Hi Steve,

You are right, although it can be very disconcerting the amount of fakes that are out there and the amount of money that is being made. I will definitely make sure any beret i buy has been verified by this forum first.

    Cheers
    Harry

Yet another bad one: WW2 MAROON BERET FOR THE BRITISH PARATROOPS ALL ORIGINAL INCLUDING PARA BADGE | eBay
Post-war beret with a fake parachute regiment cap badge!

And another one: beret para anglais ww2 sas france | eBay
Fake stampings, possibly fake badge, missing grommets?

And one similar to what we discussed earlier: BERET PARACHUTISTE ANGLAIS DATE 1944 | eBay
But now with the dot com "cleaverly" removed from the stampings.

And one for the more wealthier collectors of fake berets: British Parachute Regiment beret Paratrooper, 1944, Normandie , WW2 | eBay
Note the missing stitched diamond and wrong shape of the broad arrow.

It is just another typical item from this seller Jerry! He is best avoided unless you are very experienced.

The beret is in good company, here is yet another post-war maroon beret with fake stampings.

The latter would look great with this pair of Pattern 1949 trousers modified for para reenactors. Just look at the two original rear pockets; they are always visible even when you apply the two additional field dressing pockets.

You have to pretty daft to buy from this seller. He has a constant supply of wrongly described stuff or items that have been tampered with.

The same seller now has a post-war green beret for sale; it also has a slider pocket.

Oh dear, how sad. Never mind.

An obvious example of a beret crown that had a more desirable liner fitted recently. Oh and fake para wings.
