But I would be happy to help, regardless if they are in French or in Flemish.
The one you posted is in Flemish, that is my mother tongue. French is the language I was raised with.
...and the regiment your grandfather was in, was the regiment I served in when I was in the military... ;-)

The dagger in #6 is a copy of Napolean's dagger made in 1809. This one however, is much more recent made probably by the Spanish company of Denix. And nothing to do with the SAS.
Indeed, just got the same information from a French forum.
The original dagger was called "dague de sacre".
According to them.
Just been messing with my button collection, and very proud to show you the buttons your great-grandfather might have been wearing on his uniform.
First (golden one) is a Belgian SAS button the other are British.
Oh thats great thankyou so much for all your help, the medal pin says 1945 i will upload a closer photograph for you to take a closer look, i did just find a document which has some medal names on it which i will upload also, thanks for the information on the dagger, we were led to believed this may have been used for his knighthood or would this not have been the case?
