Hi all. Picked this up with yesterday, came out of a garage. the liner has cracked with age and there is a small split in the shell. The gent who owned this helmet served with the 12th Yorkshire Parachute battalion. Any comments welcome. Also the liner is marked G&S 1943.

Looks to be a good G and S 43 .. possibly with post war external repaint.

    No, not at all.Just wondering.
Ive seen the version with leather straps that are attached with two bolts at the back and the later pattern with one bolt and a webbing chinstrap.

Ah yes, now you mention it, there are 2 screws. Just did'nt know if that made it a rarer type or anything lol

G&S only made this version, with the two bolt holes at the rear and the leather straps, rare to find a used one as many of those known are in nearly mint or mint unused condition.

A good helmet to have James, especially if you collect para.

    Whatever its just an opinion.
