Good original and in fact better than many you see as this badge tends to warp quite badly. This is one of only a few plastic badges that are faked, but his is not one of them.

It is a fine original badge, one of the three variations that exist of this pattern.

The best reference book on cap badges...some books i have seen clearly display well known copies and just wondered what books everyone else turns to for knowledge?

I don't think there is a book that covers the WWII plastic issues. Most of the books on British cap badges are either quite old with poor pics or as you mention have better quality images but have some fakes in them.

Yes there is, Kipling and King Volume II. But it doesn't cover variations and fakes.

I only have volume 1, so did not realise Volume 2 covered the plastics in any detail. Thanks Luc.
