Pastebacks usually are WWII, but not exclusively it seems.
Certainly with SAS titles, war time titles just had SAS on them and sometimes a number, post war the first type is SAS with the number 21st and Artists in a brackets as shown, quite a rare title to find these days and expensive if you can find one, next came the middle type which has Artists in a bracket below the full spelling Special Air Service which was often cutoff (if you look you can see where it was cutoff) when the following title was introduced almost immediately, the version with just Special Air Service, which is the bottom set.

I have a Staffordshire cloth title that was Id by Post Warden as mid to late 50's paste back .
