Hi everybody, can anyone identify this piece of cloth for me? Is it from a US parachute, if so, what type, date and useage? Many thanks, Douglas

Pattern looks to be US ...
The "weave" I would hazard a guess at post war IF parachute material, (as the silk in WW2 chutes wouldn't actually show a weave pattern.)
Might it be from a uniform part ?

Thanks for your reply. Its fairly shapeless, but as it has several seams it could be part of a uniform.
Is this actually silk? I wondered if it could by nylon.
Although I have not seen it in its entirety I would hazard a guess that it could have been cut from the chute to make a scarf? I don't know if it is wartime or not but I know that this was fairly common practice. Apparently Max Hastings wore such a scarf, as his father cut it from a US parachute during Operation Market Garden as he was a War Correspondent.
they were also used as helmet camo covers.
I now have this piece of parachute cloth. Is this one wartime? Many thanks.
The first one early viet-nam
The second one looks good for ww2.
