    Default yard sale find

    hello Gents,
i'm not a U.S. collector as a rule. but i do pick up things i come across. i was talking to a lady at a yard sale yesterday , and she brought me out a box of her fathers stuff. it was all she had, and not overly interested in keeping it. she gave me a price, so i took a chance. sorry about the bad pic's, i took them last night. i can take better ones. but this gives the idea. i'm going to pass these on to some one who is more interested in it than me.

    Nice bunch of stuff Andrew.

Seems there are some 'sweetheart' items in there as well (which may have originally
gone to the wife, mother or sister). The three pilot wings appear to be WWII era.
The larger one is likely by 'Amico'.

Not sure about the Major and Lt. Col. rank insignia, as they are mostly clutchback
and could be later - the smaller ones are usually associated with USN. The 'US'
officer collar insignia and winged props are WWII, and also the 'Air Transport
Command' DI's. Nice lighter as well !

From the small piece of ribbon, it seems there should be a boxed Air Medal
with this group as well. Please let me know if you do plan on moving
    some of this along.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

I like the 3 pilot wings and the personalized Zippo lighter! Very nice! The little "son in service" enameled star pins are excellent as well. There's even a few "Ruptured Duck" discharge pins! You found yourself a great grouping of insignias and mementos!
