Article about: I have a 1940 dated sheepskin coat with various markings on, but one may be a rectangular stamp with W, arrow pointing up and then D. Did the British produce heavy sheepskin coats like this?

    Hi gary, certainly british or commonwealth WD is for War Department mate. Not sure which Arm, Me thinks Royal Navy .Cheers Paul

    Hi, that is a War Department stamp and I to would say that this is a Royal Navy jacket. Leon.
