OK, nothing extraordinary. It is just a New Zealand made Battle Dress blouse. What is of some interest, is the date of production, a nice early one, August 1941. In almost pristine condition, evidently not issued, I have completed the blouse with a couple of printed nationality slip on titles. Now it could have belonged to any member of the 2nd New Zealand Division, 2nd NZEF, deployed in any of these engagements: First Battle of El Alamein (July 1942), Second Battle of El Alamein (October–November 1942), Libya and Tunisia (December 1942–May 1943), the Sangro (October–December 1943), Battle of Monte Cassino (February–March 1944), Central Italy (May–December 1944), and the Adriatic Coast (April–May 1945). Please took notice of the buttons, unusual hard plastic ones. Cathe and Sons was a major producer of uniforms for the NZ army.
