8th air corps Ike jacket

That's a great Ike jacket, the person who had it was a radio operator (blue patch) and I think the rank is T/SGT. My great uncle would've probably had a similar jacket since he was also a radio operator.

Here is a chronological history of the US Air Force Chevron system from 1947 forward. The initial chevrons after the US Air Force became a separate branch of the Armed Forces still had the "Army Look" hence the updated chevrons to show their separation into becoming their own branch..
