I just wanted to share some pictures of my newest acquisition which is a cut-down Ike with former service in the Aleutian Islands Forces. It's my first cut-down but what really grabbed my attention is the Aleutian Islands patch. This gentleman appears to have served some time in the Aleutian Islands and then transferred over to the Pacific.

It appears to originally have been an earlier, about 1940, 4 pocket that was tailored to an Ike. Since the QM tag would have been in a bottom pocket it is not there so I can't date it exactly. The collar brass is also the earlier screw-back version rather than clutch-back.

It's pretty well marked but I haven't had a chance to research it yet.

Thank you! I'm pretty happy to have found it. To be honest, I wasn't that familiar with the patch and group but have since done some research. It's not one of the more common patches and it appears to have been period applied.

Everything looks original but I always welcome comments.
