    Default Australian WW2 Manufacturers Serial Numbers

    Could we start a thread on Australian WW2 Manufacturers After looking for Serial Numbers its the next thing i check.

    My favorite (yes i know its sad) V330
    i will drag my collection out (any excuse) to check Manufactureres codes.
    Maybe also list what the item is ?

    What are you just after the codes in clothing or also webbing and equipment?

    Off the top of my head heres some manufacturers of early tunics I have.

    Chief clothing co. Sydney 1940 tunic
    Louis Epstein Melbourne
    J. Goldberg 1942 tunic

    I think It might be a good idea to list what the item is and If Its RAAF Army or RAN as well as It would be interesting to see what each company made

    Hey Luke

    I'd ask for all- I believe there was a publication on these, but I cannot comfirm this!
    As you might know the gov't was very efficent on removing records on this type of question!!!

    Ive never heard of any list but it could well exist, even the Australian War Memorial doesnt know who the manufacturers were. You would think there would have to be a record somewhere, the problem would be finding it
