thinking of buying this jacket. seller claims it is german, but the curved lip of the pockets make me think it may be british.

Looks German to me. But I'm not a specialist.
Not British, could be German summer jacket rather than tropical, which it is not. buttons look German.

Whateverits just an opinion.
If you haven't done so already, try posting this in the German section of the forum - no doubt you'll find an abundance of experts within.
My own two cents, were it not for the buttons my guess would be a Kreigsmarine.
