Article about: Hi guys, does anyone know anything about "Jones & co" and when they were in operation? Im trying to get a rough date of a red sash.

    William Jones & co traded at 236 Regent st from 1859 to 1889!.....

    John Jones & Co. traded at 6 Regent street from 1832 to 1923.

    Bezdek's entry for Jones at 6 Regent St.:

    --John Jones, 6 Regent Street, 1828-1868
    --(John) Jones & Co., 6 Regent Street, 1869-1893
    --Sold swords made by the Wilkinson Sword Company
    --John Jones & Co., 6 Regent Street, 1894-1923

    Post 1933 they moved to a different address

    John Jones & Co, Ltd 1924 1939 33 St James's Sq
    John Jones & Co, Ltd 1940 1963 33 Bruton St
    Rogers, John Jones & Co 1964 1966 33 Bruton St

    1890-1896
    1859: Gold lacemen, embroidery, army & navy accoutrement maker &
    sword cutler.
    1862: Army & navy button maker.
    1881: Military & naval & wholesale button manufacturer.
    1893: Gold lacemen, army & navy accoutrement maker & contractor &
    metal helmet maker, sword cutler, button & military ornament
    maker & masonic regalia.

    Thanks Jerry, as this just states "Jones & co", not "john Jones & co", must be 1869-1893.

    Address is 6 regent street so it must be (John) Jones & Co.

    Though I had to look twice to make sure it was not 236?! Interesting that both makers were from the 19th century. I assume we will get to see the item at some stage.
