Can someone help me identify this tunic

The seller also states that it comes with an 'Acme Thunderer' whistle,
made in England - These were used by gym teachers at my high
school in the '70's. This whistle is not of the WWII era, IMO.

It is definitely a bogus RAAF tunic............!

I cant say anything about the BD tunic, as I dont know a lot about RAF/RAAF BD etc, what I can say though is that Acme whistles have been around since at least the mid 1860's, (ACME Whistles - Home). My mother had one when she was a bus "clippie" in the late 1950s/early 1960's, its still going strong as we use it when out with our scout troop!

i was looking at the pic and as Ade says pockets are very wrong on it, Definately not war issue,
But some poor sod with no knowledge of these will buy it and get ripped off.

What I've found over the years is that Australian Militaria can sometimes be outside the square of the accepted. Sorry if that is confusing but we made a habit of adopting both British and American kit and clothing that had previously been "proven". When I was in the RAAF in the early 80's we were sent to fight the "Ash Wednesday " Bushfires. We were all kitted in what was then termed "Jungle Greens". When we were at our standown bivouac a bus full of American tourists pulled up and two or three American Korean War veterans were amazed that we were suppossedly wearing exactly the same clothing that they had been issued with . Several of my senoir NCO's , being Vietnam veterans continued to wear the US Special Forces / Australian Training Team shirts at least.
