I obtained this tunic and cap some time ago and wondered if there is any way to identify the officer who wore it. He was a veteran of WW1 and apparently was recalled during WW2. The name appears to be A.M Davidson. Also what does the white chevron indicate as far as time spent overseas? Any assistance would be appreciated.

The white service chevron means that he'd entered the army before 10 September 1940.
