Very happy to have just bought another ATS raincoat!

This one is complete with the belt, just lacks a couple of buttons.

There's something that is so British about the clothing labels in our kit " Coats raincoat ATS , Smock Combat "" etc etc and a real Gaberdine item as well !!! I always love seeing original photos of the ATS / WAAFS etc , many people are interested in the BDM etc but i think they would have had their bait put up by our Girls !!!

Our girls were much prettier than the BDM

Hiya, finally got the pics done.

As you can see, the belt has a simple open frame buckle, which originally had a black enamelled finish.

Since looking at both my examples side by side I have now picked upon on a detail Ade & I had previously missed. There are small buttons situated under the collar. This is clearly for fitting a hood to the coat. Now to find one of these! Even a pic of one in use would be nice....

This coat also differs slightly in detail: shape of the straps to the cuffs and the label placement, which would indicate they might have been made by more than one maker.
