Desert Storm Night Camo

Article about: I actually also picked up one of those Desert Storm parkas, when I was vacationing in Washington D.C. It was about 20 dollars (no tax!), and came with a liner. Oddly enough, I found out the

    Hello to everyone!

I found you through google and I am very happy to have done so!
I am also looking to get one of these Desert Storm Parkas but I read
they are quite large in size as they were made to be worn over other
    garment and gear.

Looking through the internet I have found that the tag sizes (chest size)

    SMALL 31-37"
    MEDIUM 37-41"

are not even close to reality since they are actually bigger than this chest measurement.

So please any member that could help me out?
I need an inside armpit to armpit measurement (inches or cm would be just fine) of a small or a medium Parka
when it is lying on its back on a flat surface.

Note: I need the Thermal Liner to be attached on the Parka in order to get this measurement

So if you open a parka
(Internal thermal Liner Facing up - External camo parka lying on the surface)
what would be the measurement at the armpit height level from the one side to the other?
I need the inside measurement since that would be the internal limits of the Parka

Please see pic 1 (this is a members photo I used)

    Attachment 641794

    And what would be:
The armit to cuff length (bottom seam)
The shoulder to cuff length (top seam)

Please see pic 2 (this is a internet photo I used)

    Attachment 641796

Or please any other measurement that would help me determine
that the parka with the liner will not be to small or to big for me.

I don't mind if it is long, I am just worried about the chest, shoulder and cuff sizes

Thank you very much in advance fellow forumers.
This will greatly aid me in my search

Best Regards to all of you
    Hello there

I will try and post some specs later friend.

From armpit seam to armpit seam at the "cross section" my jacket is 62 cm. My jacket is a "Large" 41-45 inch chest btw.

The sleeve is approx 55 cm lower and 67 cm upper. To make it maybe a bit easier i am 178 cm height and approx 110-115 cm chest. The jacket in Large suits me very good. It does not feel tight at all. It also feels very light. I use the jacket a lot for outdoors activity. The liner gives surprisingly good insulation.

Excellent! you gave me a great ideal of information Lars!
Ok, from armpit to armpit seam is 62,
from one end to the other (at the armpit height) how much is it? (total internal length)

    PS: Wow that is a coincidence! I am 1.78 and 106cm (wearing just a T-Shirt ) hahaha!

I'm not too sure i understand but the shoulder seam to cuff is 67 cm and armpit seam to cuff 55 cm. If you are about my size go for a Large then

    Cheers

I apologize for not making myself clear
If you look at the 1st picture I included there is a red line that goes
from one side of the jacket to the other when it is laid open on a flat
surface. What is that length? (red line 1st picture).
You will also notice that I have drawn this line at the armpit height.

So If you would imaginary measure the total length of the 4 points
    (zipper->right armpit seam->left armpit seam->zipper again) what
    would this be?

Sorry I am silently laughing in the office thinking about two men
discussing clothing in such detail hahaha!

Thank you for your time Lars!

Remember there are only buttons From 3rd button hole to 3rd button across it's about 115 cm. That is when i grab each side and stretch it out. It's a difficult measurement to take From 2nd button it's about 88 cm across.

    Cheers

    Buttons! Nice!
I thought it was zippered, but it is better with buttons

You could have been any clearer than that!
Roger that Lars I will measure myself and some of my jackets when I get back home.

You have been a saviour Sir!
Thank you once more for all of this mess I've put you through

I think I am a medium size, the way I see it.
Hopefully I am going to order the right one
If you can imagine, I was thinking about getting the small one
from reading people saying that these Parkas were made to run large in order to accommodate
    gear and garments underneath it.

I am very looking forward to wear it for daily tasks since I am looking
    for a lightweight parka.

Once again Sir, my sincere thank you!

As for the camo it was a complete failiure, during tests with IR/night vision white snow camo suits gave far better results!...
