english greatcoats in italy

hi guys,ive been told this is the grenadier guards on monte camino in italy,i want to have the photo coloured by the great bill t,,,,,can anybody tell me what colours the greatcoats where please,,,many thanks adam,,,,,,

ow and what would they be caring in there pouches etc,,,,many thanks

Greatcoats are khaki, a greenish brown colour. They are carrying an entrenching tool, a water bottle and what is called a bren gun pouch, which is used for ammo, though they probably kept all sorts of items in them. Also a rolled up poncho or ground sheet. And a long bayonet.
