Hi Ryan, good original items.

The insignia is: rank, 1st Lt, name tape and US Army tape, while the shoulder sleeve insignia is for the US 85th Inf Div. This was a training div (post WW2) in which he must have served in at some point prior to being posted the 16th Inf Regt, 1st Inf Div, the famous "Big Red One".

If it has whiteish fuzzy wool on 1 side it is a "freezie" liner. It is just a earlier type liner. I like them better than the modern ones. Rich A. in Pa.
