GoodWill found Army Uniform
Article about: Found this at my local goodwill, it’s well decorated but unfortunately is completely unnamed. Got it for \\$11 with the trousers and belt. The pockets had some items but mostly from the dry

Rank is for a Specialist 4 which is comparable to a Corporal (E-4), also forgot to mention that the ribbons above the right pocket are also Unit awards and unless one was assigned to the Unit when these were awarded they can only be worn while the soldier is assigned to the Unit. I think the blue ribbon is a Presidential Unit citation and I believe the red and green one may be a Superior Unit award but could be wrong. The 2nd Infantry was a highly decorated Unit in WWII.

Your right sarge. Blue is Presidential Unit Citation, Red is Meritorious Unit Commendation, Red and Green is Superior Unit Award though they are mounted backwards in order of precedence.
As far as I understand a specialist gets paid the same as a corporal but does not have the authority to lead troops like a corporal because it’s more of a technical grade as opposed to one of leadership. Perhaps I’m wrong though. (Not familiar with this concept being a Marine! Haha)
The Army authorizes for wear the citations and awards awarded to the unit you are a part of while you are with that unit. Which is why this soldier has a Croix de Guerre fourragere and all the unit citations.
You also have a Distinctive Unit Insignia of the 5th Battalion 20th Infantry Regiment
Neat find Bodhi. Congrats

Looks to be either late 80s to 90s era. I had the same buckle issued to me infact. The 2nd ID are based out of Firt Dix NJ , and are presently stationed on the DMZ Korea.
