That photo appeared many years ago in Senich German Sniper book. Most experts of photo's believe it to be a staged photo around possibly the Normandy area it is a cool photo though thanks for showing it. timothy

I took this photo from a Japanese published book: Battlefield Photo of German Fallschirmjager Units.
The publisher probably made a mistake on the camo coverall as a Para-smock.
Yes, it could be staged. However, I know that at least one photo of a German soldat wearing a U.S. camo helmet cover.

My first thoughts when looking at that picture is that it was staged to give the newspapers back home something to print. The second one posted also looks to be a staged photo to me. The guy just looks to "american".

Sure are; the man in the first photograph is nearly invisible before the brick wall and rubble. A real edge when fighting a color-blind opponent in urban combat!

Good point. Very well could be, the way very fine material like that would 'billow' (for lack of better words)
