merchant marine officers coat

Hi WRF members My mrs came home from a few days visiting her friend in another town and bought me home this merchant marines officers jacket .(found and a local opp shop) can anyone give me any info on it .? any guesses of and age would be great too .

It's australian or british I'm unsure which .Brit commonwealth I'm pretty sure of that .lol harry ....

probably the rank just below Captain 1st officer?.

The phone number is reasonably long and that implies the jacket is not very old, as early phone numbers have relatively few digits. I would guess 1960's.

I agree with Douglas, my girlfriend's father was a Chief Engineer in the MN for 25 plus years. His uniform which he was wearing in the late 80s is very similar to this, I don't think they changed much at all. Cheers.
