Hi Robin,
Thanks for letting me know about the different codes you learn something everyday, i am an Ex Light Infantryman myself so as you know we did,nt take much notice of all the codes lol, thanks for your service.
Dave.
The NSN replaced the FSN sometime in the 1990's.The FSN (Federal Stock Number) started as early as 1953 and always began with 84..........regardless of the other numbers, the only differance is the "O1" was added, this is only seen on all NSN numbers.some FSN numbers stayed the same on a particular production item, but changed on others.please don't confuse these numbers with the MIL-L/DA/QM/DSA/DLA.Totally different meaning................
many thanks jake i might have to pick your brains on these other codes dsa/dla etc sometime if you dont mind explaining further, cheers james
For you James always a pleasure and the time, just pick away Bud...........
