Interesting. Perhaps it's another Carl A. Hughes? Not a common name, but not unique either. The only other Carl A. Hughes's I can see in the records was a Fireman 1st class on a ship, but this can't be him, of course. Maybe the Pilot Hughes's records were part of the great record loss in the fire at the archives of the National Personnel Records Center in 1973. Approximately 16-18 million official personnel records were lost in the fire. It's suspected that a cigarette may possibly have been the cause.

Nope william I think this is him for sure, i talked to the lady who i bought this from and she said she bought this at a recently deceased veterans estate in georgia. I found that guy also from the research, to low of a rank for him.
