It is a 1948 pattern RAF uniform and as a F/O he had wartime ground technical OR's qualifications for signalling and Jr. Technician/aero mechanics- a qualified trade badge was eligible for wear on later uniform or services, even as a later officer with OR's trades being shown. Not particularly unusual.
Would it be common to have the Officer rank on only one epaulette as in the case of this jacket?
Possibly a single slip-on that has been added........?
Regards,
Steve.
Would he wear the sleeve eagles as an officer? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but RAF is not something I know that much about.

Jerry
Whatever its just an opinion.
