Raaf Tunic need Help with the sleeve patches

Article about: Yeh I have seen this before.....just took me a minute to get my head round to explaining it. It is perfectly acceptable to find WW1 UCP on WW2 RAAF tunics.... I would IMO, most of these blok

    Hey fellas got this one this week i have been looking frantically for info on the patches that came on this tunic..

    I know it looks like the AFC WW1 Patch but i dont think its it.

    Sorry to use the ebay photos but its 3:30am cant sleep and the wife has hidden the camera.

    Any help would be great also any one looking to shift any WW2 Raaf gear please message me .

    My ref goes by Australian Flying Corps used till '19
    Not sure if the buttons are WW2

    sadly on a v937 1943 tunic maybe a ww1 veteran recalled ?

    Yeh patch is WW1 Australian colour patch. This would have been the wearers WW1 unit and he ould have worn it on his WW2 tunic.....I don't believe RAAF wore colour patches in WW2. I believe the colour patch was worn in WW1 as the first Aussie air force squadrons were formed under Army command.....
    Australian Flying Corps in WW1 was technically a Army unit, therefore the use of the UCP. The Royl Australian Air Force was formed in 1921, as a service in its own right, hence no Army colour patch was used.....

    Interesting o note, the current Australian Army Aviation corps, is a direct descendant of the AFC, and continues to wear similar UCP
