Scales of Issue for Battledress and Boots

I recently came across these two tables showing the numbers of each size of battledress and boots to be held per 1000 men that I thought might be interesting. It certainly explains why the larger sizes of battledress that fit the modern man are much harder to find than the tidgy ones!

I have also noted the difference in average sizes for uniforms during and before WWII.
I guess we have eaten better with better health care since that period.

There is no doubt that we are mostly bigger these days.
I wonder why the proportion figures go up-and-down instead of forming a smooth 'hump'?

The vast majority of people had a 6 pack in those days and not through working out in the Gym.

During WW1 the average soldier would probably have been even smaller.
