Type G-1 Avirex US Navy Jacket

My Mom had found this for $15 and we are wondering if we can have some info on the Jacket and an idea of what it is worth. Date looks to be 1986? Not sure, because it is a little faded away. Any opinions on it would be great. Thanks

Yes that is when it was made for $15 you got a great jacket . When I was 16 in 1986 I got the flying tiger version. They had about 5 or 6 different jackets . Gary

I know it was a couple hundred back in 86 now I have no ideal .

$15 was a very good deal, but it will not be worth anywhere near as much
as a used U.S. made version would be, which ran about $350-$400 new.
These became extremely popular after the movie 'Top Gun'
was released. I hope you are going to wear it !

Below are two I picked up 8 or 9 years ago at thrift shops. The one on
the right - which I wear all the time - is a U.S. made Avirex. It was
$17.95. The other, an unknown earlier make, only $9.95.........

Nice jackets Walkwolf. Unfortunately, I can't wear it (now) because it is a large and I'm about a size medium right now, but the good thing is that I can grow into it
