    If earrings The person would have to have some serious lobes the springs are real strong .
    Never thought of that .
    I'm still thinking something for Veterans . Clip on a collar , But it would be on the right side . Just a thought .

    I think their called bachelor's buttons.The clip is designed so the buttons can be easily removed from the uniform for hand washing.
    I think the design comes from British service in India where the dhobi-wallah, washing help" would remove the buttons before hand washing the garment by beating it on a flat rock or similar hard surface.
