Wife & Husband WWII Grouping - ANC Flight Nurse & 15th AAF

I acquired this group from a gentlemen who cleaned out the estate of the wife.

The majority of the items belong to Margaret C. Cass (nee Thompson), who was a 1st Lt in the Army Nurse Corps, attached to the 5th AAF.

Also included is the husbands uniform. His name was Robert H. Cass and he was a Captain in the 15th AAF.

At the present time, I'm having some difficulty locating information on the husband.

With respect to Margaret, I was able to confirm she was born 6/15/1922 and passed away on 10/31/2007. Included below is a copy of her obit which mentions her WWII service.



Regarding Robert, I'm having trouble locating any information on him other than the marriage cert filed when he married Margaret. Luckily, I have both of their service numbers so hopefully I can obtain their records.

In the mean time, I thought I would share the grouping.

Several loose patches, including a nice bullion 1st AAF, Bullion CBI and theatre made AAF Far East.

Not sure how the 3rd Army fits in. Guessing Margaret or Robert picked it up as souvenir along the way.

The Hawaiian patches are souvenirs and the Surfriders Sportswear patches sold Hawaiian shirts, etc. in the 40's through the 60's.
