An unissued Australian 1944 dated beret. I have shown a couple of images of what I think is the same type being worn.
A publication from Ceylon for the RAF called Airflow. It is about A5 size and contains stories, cartoons and quiz’s along with adverts. This edition is from August 1944
I haven’t updated this thread for a little while. The only addition is a pair of issue spectacles.
Looks good. That arm looks a bit odd though. Maybe a bit of mud on the boots would complete the picture.
Unfortunately that’s how he came. He’s a Hindsgaul mannequin so he’s very well made and I don’t really want to start cutting him up. I think it does give him a bit of character, better than the ones standing to attention, although it does look like he’s propping up a bar. Maybe I need to get some ammo crates for him to lean on and a beer bottle.
Our man has been promoted to Captain as seen by his JG sliders
Indian made webbing belt dated 1945
Whilst searching through some bits and pieces I found this under shirt that I forgot that I had. I don’t think it is jungle specific, however, it does have a green/khaki colour to it. It’s very well used and stained. Unfortunately it was very difficult getting in on the mannequin and as his arms are not painted I cannot give you a picture of the whole item, however, it is similar to the one worn by Major James Lumley (Joanna Lumleys’ father). Hopefully you get the idea.
