Could anyone tell me when this medal was created please?
Dated on the medal 1940-1944 but is this a late commemorative issue?
Thanks in anticipation.

Don't know exactly ! I ll look it up tomorrow.
Must be early 50'ths I think !
Thank you Stuka.
I'm enjoying studying the Belgian medals and in particular the Resistance movement. Having a job sorting out the 'real' from the 'pretend' however! The awards seem to overlap a lot and it's a problem to know who would have got what by way of medals.
Do you have an image of a Resistance badge/insignia handy that I should be looking out for? I'm guessing it will be the tiger in the triangle type and have seen a lapel badge on the web. Again plenty of copies waiting for a mug to come along!

I doubt about it!!
Because the general resistance medal was officialy created 16 februari 1946!
However I think the Belgian clandestine press medal was not a official medal but a association medal...
Still veryfing !
The official titel/status of member of the "clandestine press" only came up september 1948!
Here is a link to a Flemish thesis regarding the Belgian clandestine press.
Sluikpers. Antwerpen, 1940-1944. (Gert De Prins)

Just saw that it was only on 17 juli 1953, one could be recognized as a official member of the clandestine press!
So the medal must have been instaured passed that date!

Here is a armband of the groupe (not mine!)
That was embarrassing wasn't it?
What the hell made me say tiger I don't know but I do humbly apologise. In my defence I do need glasses but can't bring myself to have my eyes tested!
Thanks again for the information the thread is bringing out as the war time press doesn't seem to get much limelight. They did an incredible job for the Allies and would have course been very seriously dealt with had they been caught. All part of the resistance movement and due our respect for their courage.
