Engraved Bronze Star Question
Article about: I bought this Bronze Star advertised as being WWII vintage. I want to make sure it is a WWII medal and not a surplus used in Viet Nam. It is engraved Alger L. White Jr. Here is what I know f

First, thanks for your response.
I am still out to lunch on this one. I was really leaning towards re-used WWII surplus. HOWEVER, in doing my research NEITHER the Vietnam vets memorial page nor the unit history page have him receiving the Bronze Star.
I still don't know though...

The consensus seems to be WWII Bronze Star and case.
HOWEVER, the ribbon bar is crimped and from what I've been told that it is post WWII.
I have also been informed that the engraving is post WWII.
So it appears that this is a WWII surplus issued Bronze Star for a Vietnam soldier.
