    Hi,

Thank you to everyone who has been so accommodating and helpful on my posts thus far. Here is the next item from my grandfather-in-law's collection.

It looks to be a collar tab. Could anyone help identify what it is and what is was awarded for?

    I appreciate everyone's feedback.

    Thank you!

NSDAP collar tab. I am far from an expert...but the wine red piping is high up in rank or level. Originality is just a guess, but it looks correct IMO. So it's not awarded...it's part of a uniform

The "plant" are oak leaves, and are used frequently on German insignia and awards.

Allow me to add that the patch- and piping color identified the organisational level on which the wearer served, in this case (as well as with the other patch you posted) the Gauleitung:

    • Light brown with light blue piping = Ortsgruppenleitung (local level)
    • Dark chocolate brown with white piping = Kreisleitung (district level)
    • Red with dark red piping = Gauleitung (Gau level)
    • Crimson with yellow/gold piping = Reichsleitung (national level)

Thank you very much for the additional info!
