adrians advice is the best you can get,it appears he fought in france ,maybe normandy d-day? or plus. also some home servive due to the defence medal, a very nice quartet. regards to grandads memory,best from george,,,,,,,,,,,,and they are shown in exact reverse order

My grandfather never had his medals issued, after he died I applied for them and received a horrible, cheap looking group of the four medals you have,the main thing was the paperwork they came with.
Anyway, last year I applied for his service record and although I knew he was a driver of some kind of vehicle that carried fuel, I didn't know that vehicle was a Churchill Crocodile tank. Apply for his service record, there might not be much in there but it's worth doing and the turnaround now is a couple of weeks rather than 6 to 18 months.
