    got this for £5, didnt realise it belonged to a high ranking officer who has his own wiki page, and a chief general of the general staff at one point

    Field Marshal Sir Archibald James Halkett Cassels GCB, KBE, DSO (28 February 1907 – 13 December 1996) was Chief of the General Staff, the professional head of the British Army. As well as being a first-class cricket player, he served in World War II, commanded the 1st Commonwealth Division in the Korean War and was Director of Operations in Malaya during the Malayan Emergency. He later advised the British Government on the implementation of the 1966 Defence White Paper.
    the plaque reads:

    "Presented to General Sir A James H Cassels KBE CB DSO
    Colonial commandant corps of military police
    by Major T M Dillon-White. RMP provost Marshal and
    all ranks of the corps of federation military police on
    the occasion of the alliance between the two corps
    Malaya 1959

    someone on ebay has a group of the same guys medals for £19000, I dont understand how people get to obtain such "famous" military characters?? The plaque I got was in an antique place and it was actually dumped hidden under the table not even displayed...

    Looks like his possessions have been dispersed long after his passing. Makes you wonder how much the family got for those medals. Too bad no one in the family wanted to keep them, but that happens quite a lot.
