all of them? How can I tell the difference between British and Commonwealth nations? I thought the ribbons were right, at least from the sites I had found. They have Norwegians in Australia and New Zealand? They will let anyone in, won't they..... I just know us Swedes know the right way to spell son lol
WWII British and Canadian medals are not officially named.........

Mick
Ta Mick, that helps alot here's the site I was using, I liked his pictures and explanations.
Naming Styles on British War Medals & General Guide
There's a picture of an India medal that was named, and marked as a replacement. He also says that the campaign medals in ww2 weren't named. I took that to mean the star medals, but he also says that they added the unit and such. Mine only have a name..hhmmm Sounds like something to investigate hehe We'll figure it out eventually I hope lol
WWII Vets were very upset that their medals were not personalised
with name, number and regiment on them the way WWI medals
were. It is understandable - the medals then become impersonal
and unidentifiable - with no history as to who 'won' them.
The reason they were not named was to save time and cut cost
- imagine the man hours required to stamp approximately
six million WWI 'Victory' medals.........!

Steve.
Just had another thought on them,i searched for Commonwealth Medals and i think they could be South African. The Service numbers seem similar to the one on your Medals ??
That too is a possibility.........!

Steve.
These are my father's medals, he served with a Scottish Regt in Burma/India.
No designating service no./name/rank on the edges, as has been noted.
