My pleasure. I get a kick out of doing this.

Can you confirm the text on the front of the silver badge please?

As I mentioned before, WW2 records are closed for all intents and purposes. If I have time I will do some more digging around over the Easter hols.

    Cheers, Ade.

oh...i see what you mean about the loyal service pin now! if it is a modern copy does that make you think this was a made up set made to look this way for a better sale??
the guy i got it from was a house clearance guy and i dont think he looked like he had it in him.....but then....
however i only paid £55 for the medal case and medals and knew the medals were right so was happy either way.
it really annoys me people mess with these guys history and the fact that certain so called militaria dealers scrap the ww1 medal for its silver value!! UN*******BELIEVABLE!!

Hi, now I know the text on the badge and the lack of serial number I can confirm it is NOT a silver war badge. This has the legend "For King and Empire-Services Rendered" around the rim.

So no need to worry about the group being messed around with. As I have mentioned before many times in the past, good clear close up photos are vital in this game. Fuzzy pics lead to guesswork which can lead you down the wrong path and cause undue concerns.

    Cheers, Ade.
