DVR stands for Driver and this one was in the Royal Artillery (RA). In more recent times Driver which is a Private soldier rank such as SPR / Sapper, GNR Gunner, Tpr / Trooper, RFN / Rifleman, FUS / Fusilier, GDSM / Guardsman etc became limited to the RASC (Royal Army Service Corps) then RCT (Royal Corps of Transport) then RLC (Royal Logistic Corps - not Really Large Corps!!) although the change to only one Corps using the title was not instant. Now DVR is only used by the RLC although there are soldiers in other units employed as drivers whilst some units have DVRs attached from RLC. Confusing eh? Anyway, nic BWM (British War Medal).
Regards
Mark
PS The BWM to a soldier in the RA would likely have the 1914 -18 Star and Victory Medal to go with it so keep your eyes peeled

Wow thanks Tom!!!
His address of pay was for Dumbarton, my home town and the same town as the P. McConnell named on my GSM!
I'm loving these medals more and more!

Shame that his 14-15 trio has been broken up, but all too common it seems.

Lucky that the silver war medal survived as they were often split off from the other two and sold for the scrap value of the silver.
