A new find I stumbled upon in an out of the way shop run by a nice little elderly lady.
I think this is from 1984 because of what looks like a date on the box. It is still in its original plastic bag, and thus the photos reflect my hesitancy to remove it from the bag. Sorry about that.

It looks like some replacement medal made in 1980s for a veteran.

Actually these can still be purchased at the Military Clothing Sales store on many military bases. Unfortunately the WWII vets need for replacement medals is slowly decreasing!

That is true, you can still buy these at a number of places. This one is thirty years old though. I totally agree with you that it is unfortunate that we are losing our world war 2 vets.
