It is a membership ribbon of the Scabbard and Blade Society (upside down). As it is a college military honor society, the ribbon is certainly not the original part of the tunic.

I recently found the exact same information while searching
for another ribbon posted on the Forum yesterday ! ! ? !

I guess my first source was incorrect about the
'Banana Wars' thing.........!

I believe the red/dark blue ribbon is an ROTC award ribbon for a unit called the 'Pershing Rifles'. At one time they had drill squads
with many ROTC commands, and the ribbon was an indicator they were a member. Not sure if they're still around now. I've had
them before in similar groups where the vet was an ROTC member prior to being commissioned.

My error, it is the 'Scabbard & Blades' as the other member indicated. I tend to get the ROTC one confused as there are so many!
