Default US medal beveled edge lapel pins WW2 or Korea?

    Hello everyone!

I have operated under the belief that lapel pins like the one below are Korean era, due to the beveled metal button fixture, and that WW2 lapel pins do not have the bevel but are flat all around. Am I correct, or would the beveled edged pins be found on later war WW2 issued medals as well?

Thanks all for your time and clarification on when these may have started being used!

My belief has always been that the beveled ones are WWII
era, and the flat ones are later. Wishful thinking perhaps,
but the flat ones seem to be very cheaply made
    in comparison.........
    Regards,

    Steve.
