I have a WW1 and WW2 mixture from a grandfather and his grandson. Grandfather's item was not military, it is a coin pouch, grandson carried it in WW2 so the group was kept together.

Gizmo8z while you are correct that the majority of WWII medals have the slot brooch style, there are cases of surplus medals from the war that were used in korea and early Vietnam...your heart looks good to me, esp with the early zincback ribbon that's with it
